Home Sweet Home

I will try and get everyone up to speed on our house, we still are without internet so this will have to do for awhile. We wanted to get the floors done before we moved in so the first major project was ripping out all the nasty carpet. The living room alone had three layers of carpet, a layer of linoleum and then a layer of newspaper from 1958. Then Rob refinished all the hardwood floor.

Ripped out all this... ....................................................................... to get this!

The moving process was relatively painless thanks to all our wonderful helpers! Thank you Adam, Sarah, Mom, Dad, Willy, and Jeremy. We had 3 trucks, 1 very large van, and 1 normal van and we got it all in 2 trips!

After moving in Rob began to work on some smaller projects, like fixing a heating duct, and sealing the windows. We took care of some yard work and rototilled the spot were our garden will be before it got too cold. The last major project we wanted to do before digging in next summer was blowing insulation into the attic space.

Its been very nice (to put it mildly) having our own space with no one else living in the same building! Our neighbors from before were nice but had a few habits that we didn't particularly appreciate. We've met all of our new neighbors and everyone is very nice, we are fortunate! And finally, we had a house warming party which I forget to take any pictures of but it was great time of hanging out with friends and family! Thank you everyone who had a part in the purchase, moving, and fixing (past and future) of our house!
